THE ENVIRONMENT, NATURAL DISASTERS, AND ILLEGAL DUMPING

In the southwestern rural section of the county where there once was beautiful farmland, everglades and nature preserves, trees are being cut down to make way for housing developments and strip malls; hurricanes are destroying the landscape; and making matters worse, people are illegally dumping garbage on the roads, highways, and in the natural and manmade lakes.
