GROWING OLDER IN A YOUTH-ORIENTED ENVIRONMENT

Growing older has its drawbacks, and aging in an environment that caters to youth makes the changes and losses even more obvious.

These panels feature the stories and artwork created by a diverse group of senior citizens from the Little Havana Activities and Nutrition Center; the Espanola Way Senior Center; and Four Freedom Towers on Miami Beach. Children from Feinberg-Fisher Elementary School and youngsters from ABC Kids Care (who experienced “sensitivity training” regarding the degenerative aging process) also participated in art activities by collaborating with some of the senior citizens on their drawings.
